Cowboys Renew Cornerback Brand's Contract
2. 9. 2025
The Dallas Cowboys and starting cornerback De'Aaron Brand recently reached an agreement on a four-year, $92 million contract extension, including $50 million guaranteed. The new contract's average annual salary will instantly make him the sixth-highest-paid cornerback in the league.
Brand's career started modestly, being drafted in the fifth round of the 2022 draft and wearing the Dallas Cowboys football jersey, but he quickly established himself in the NFL. More impressively, he returned five interceptions for touchdowns this season, setting an NFL single-season record. His outstanding performance earned him a Pro Bowl nod and a First-Team All-Pro nod.
Last season, Brand was plagued by injuries and missed 10 games. However, his performances when weared the NFL jerseys on the field had already proven he deserved a substantial contract, and the Cowboys extended his contract before the opening night.

In the final game of the NFL's opening week, the Chicago Bears hosted the Minnesota Vikings. Both teams underwent significant offseason changes this season. Finally, due to a botched final play, Moore, wearing a Chicago Bears football jersey, was called for illegal pre-snap movement, resulting in a four-second loss and a five-yard penalty. Ultimately, the Vikings secured their season opener in a thrilling game.
In terms of statistics, JJ McCarthy, wearing the No. 9 Minnesota Vikings football jersey, completed 13 of 20 passes for 143 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception. He also had 2 rushes for 25 yards and 1 touchdown. Running back Jordan Mason rushed for 68 yards on 15 occasions. Wide receiver Justin Jefferson caught the ball 3 times for 44 yards and 1 touchdown.

On the first play of the Chargers' away game against the Raiders, Geno Smith threw an interception, but it was broken up. After recovering the ball, they were unable to convert it for a touchdown. Dick, wearing the No. 11 Los Angeles Chargers football jersey, then hit a 38-yard field goal, officially becoming the most accurate kicker in NFL history with at least 100 field goal attempts.
Before the end of the first half, the Chargers exploded. Herbert, wearing his NFL jerseys, connected with a long pass, shrugging off wide receiver Quentin Johnston and driving unimpeded into the end zone for a spectacular 60-yard touchdown, extending the Chargers' lead to 17-6.
After a hard-fought second half, the Chargers finally won the game. This time, the Chargers didn't overdo it; they ran out of time to secure their second consecutive win and take the lead in the Western Conference. However, an injury to key pass rusher Khalil Mack may pose a threat to the team's future.

Running back Gibbs ultimately ran for a touchdown to give his team the lead. On the Ravens side, Lamar Jackson connected with tight end Andrews repeatedly, and Derrick Henry ran for a 28-yard touchdown on third down and 1, bringing the score level. Notably, before the game, star quarterback Lamar Jackson arrived on the field wearing a Kobe Bryant T-shirt instead of a Baltimore Ravens football jersey. The shirt featured a news release about Kobe's 81-point performance, considered a tribute to Bryant.
Ravens defensive tackle ruled out for season
30. 9. 2025
The Baltimore Ravens have had a disappointing start to the season. Widely favored before the season, they've suffered their first 1-3 start in a decade. To make matters worse, top defensive tackle Madubuike has missed the past two weeks with a neck injury.
His injury is so serious that coach Ed Harbaugh confirmed today that he can’t wear the NFL jerseys and will miss the remainder of the 2025 season. This is a significant blow to a Ravens defense that has allowed 33.3 points per game this season (worst in the NFL).
Another more significant injury is Jackson, who weared the Baltimore Ravens football jersey and suffered a hamstring injury in the game against the Chiefs. Besides Jackson, several key Ravens players are dealing with varying degrees of injuries. These injuries make the Ravens' upcoming games even more challenging.
