Chargers Sign Left Tackle to High-Paid Contract
The Los Angeles Chargers recently re-signed star player Rashawn Slater to a four-year, $114 million supermax contract, including $92 million guaranteed. This contract makes Slater the league's highest-paid offensive lineman.
As a 2021 rookie, Slater is entering the final year of his rookie contract. However, despite seeking a new contract, Slater reported to training camp on time on July 16th, demonstrating a positive attitude. Ultimately, both sides reached an agreement, and Slater will continue to wear the NFL jerseys and play for the team.
Since entering the league, Slater has quickly established himself as a starter in the Los Angeles Chargers football jersey. He earned All-NBA Second Team honors and a Pro Bowl selection in his rookie season. Although injury limited him to three games in his second season, he has remained largely healthy over the past two seasons.
