Patriots and Texans Make Trade
The Houston Texans recently completed a significant trade to strengthen their roster. They sent safety Jalen Reid and a 2028 seventh-round pick to the Patriots in exchange for wide receiver Kaysean Butt, who had a standout performance in last season's playoffs.
The 24-year-old Butt, a graduate of prestigious Louisiana State University, was selected by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2023 NBA Draft. Over the past two seasons with the New England Patriots football jersey, he accumulated 76 receptions, 1,140 receiving yards, and 9 touchdowns while playing alongside Mayer, showcasing several impressive deep receptions.
Upon officially wearing the Houston Texans football jersey, Butt is expected to quickly establish himself in the rotation. For the Patriots, Butt's departure alleviates their overabundance of wide receivers. The acquisition of 23-year-old safety Reid adds depth to their defensive backcourt.
