The second pick signed a historic contract
The second pick of the Jaguars, Hunter, signed his rookie contract with the team. This fully guaranteed contract is worth $46.65 million, of which a signing bonus of $30.57 million will be paid immediately.
Hunter, who will wear the Jacksonville Jaguars football jersey, became the first rookie player in NFL history who was neither a quarterback nor the No. 1 pick, but was able to take a signing bonus at one time. He is the third to last player to sign a rookie contract this year, and the last top ten rookie to sign this year.
Of the 32 first-round picks, only Shemar Stewart, the No. 17 NFL jerseys pick, and Jahad Baron, the No. 20 pick of the Broncos, have not signed. But Baron is different from Stewart. Like Hunter before signing, he has no obvious conflicts with the team, has been training with the team, and has left a deep impression on the coaching staff.
