Former Championship Hero Remains in Philadelphia
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goldter's contract was originally set to expire on March 11th, but both sides postponed the expiration date twice to allow more time for negotiations. Just before the deadline, they finally reached an agreement, with Goldter signing a one-year extension to remain in Philadelphia.
This extension not only allows the veteran to continue wearing the Philadelphia Eagles football jersey but also prevents the team from incurring $20 million in dead money. The negotiations with Goldter were difficult, partly because they also had to deal with the future of wide receiver AJ Brown.
While Goldter's on-court performance in his NFL jerseys has declined somewhat with age, he remains an indispensable part of the Eagles' passing offense. Last season, his 60 regular-season receptions and 11 touchdown receptions also set career highs.
