Minnesota Vikings Plan to Cut Costs
To bring their salary expenditure below the salary cap before the upcoming deadline, the Vikings are reportedly considering cutting some high-paid veterans. According to reports, the Vikings will attempt to trade starting defensive tackle Hargreave and starting running back Aaron Jones. If a trade fails, they will waive them.
The 33-year-old Hargreave signed with the Vikings last offseason, will continue wearing his NFL jerseys and playing for the team. However, his overall performance has declined, averaging 3.5 sacks and 52 tackles in 15 starts.
The 31-year-old Aaron Jones had a career-high 1,138 yards in Minnesota Vikings football jersey last season. However, due to injuries and the arrival of Jordan Mason, Jones's stats have dropped to 548 yards in the 2025 season. This output clearly doesn't justify his multi-million dollar salary.
